AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season

In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.

The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an special katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
