The goal seemed to secured a vital three points for Nuno's side in their battle against relegation. The Seagulls, stirred by the conceded goal, pressed forward, coming close when Kilman almost turned the ball into his own goal.

Home Late Show Delivers Again

Given that stoppage-time drama are commonplace at the Amex, the home supporters kept a glimmer of hope. Their faith was rewarded in the closing moments. Amid a chaotic penalty area melee, van Hecke showed composure to slide the ball across the area, where Rutter arrived to thunder it into the roof of the net. The leveler sparked wild celebrations from the home contingent, while it was a crushing blow to West Ham's safety hopes.

The draw does little to ease the relegation fears for the London club, who stay firmly entrenched in the fight at the bottom of the table. Meanwhile for Brighton, it is another example of their never-say-die spirit, but also highlights the erratic performances that are preventing their season.
