Salah Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match after criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
