The Reform UK leader Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
